The makers & shakers Awards, Celebrate Excellence in Global Production. The awards are brought to you by The Location Guide , makers magazine and FOCUS . The awards aim to recognise and honour ground-breaking ideas and initiatives from players across the spectrum of the global creative screen industry.
This year’s shortlist highlights ambitious initiatives, enterprising individuals and strokes of creative genius that have been the driving force for the global creative screen industries. It showcases the most ground-breaking work across the board, from production technology to local industry initiatives.
Our panel of well-respected judges, including representatives from NETFLIX , Warner Bros. Studios Leavesden ,ACNE , Orca Studios and OLFFI has chosen each entry based on its innovation and creativity as well as its overall impact. Key themes highlighted in the 2020 shortlist include rapid responses to the coronavirus crisis which range from production processes to community support.
Several initiatives that address the mental health crisis, inclusion, diversity and gender equality have also shone through.
Jean-Frederic Garcia, the event director for the makers & shakers Awards, said: “ We couldn’t have been happier with the response to the inaugural awards. The shortlist demonstrates the excellence makers & shakers was created to celebrate, and shows the impressive work being done across the global production support industry. 2020 has tested the resilience and resourcefulness of the sector and we are looking forward to bringing together the global screen industry to celebrate its accomplishments ”.
