The sixth edition of Bio To B will take place June 13th – 15th 2019 in Bologna, during Biografilm Festival. During three days of networking, European cinema professionals will have the opportunity to meet, discuss and promote their respective work within an international context. Over the course of the event, there will be pitching sessions, panels, talks and the opportunity to set up one-to-one meetings. Bio To B is characterized by the presence of established film professionals: representatives from international sales companies, a selection of European distributors, international festival directors and programmers, commissioning editors and representatives from the major national TV channels of films and documentaries.
Bio To B selects 18 projects, either documentary or fictional biographies / biopics feature films (intended for theatrical release), European productions or co-productions which are in the final stages, either in production or rough cut. The final format of the film must be of a minimum duration of 50 minutes. At the end of the event an international Jury assigns three grants: Best European Project, Best Italian Project, Best Project from Emilia-Romagna.
Bio to B is pleased to confirm also this year the partnership with DOK Leipzig. Director Leena Pasanen will award a prize to one of the selected projects: an invitation at DOK Leipzig and its Industry Programme.
We are also proud to announce that the “Make It Real”- Bio To B Award 2019, dedicated to cinema professionals who have most distinguished themselves internationally in film production and distribution, will be presented to producer Diane Weyermann, as part of the special tribute that this year Biografilm Festival dedicates to the Canadian production company Participant Media on the occasion of its 15 years of activity.
