Four Italian films at the Toronto Film Fest

Four Italian films, four of our most celebrated directors have been selected for the Toronto International Film Festival, the major North-American event taking place from September 6 to 16.

Featured in the “Master” section, Paolo Sorrentino presents the world premiere of the international version of Loro. From here the film, also thanks to his US and Canadian distributors, will start its international journey. Among the “Special Presentations”, Matteo Garrone‘s Dogman. The film will be released in many countries, including US and Canada. After its world premiere in the Venice competition, the festival presents Roberto Minervini‘s What You Gonna Do when the World’s on Fire?, a reflection on the growing racial tension in the US and a portrait of an afroamerican community fighting for justice. Edoardo De AngelisThe Vice of Hope will be presented as a world premiere in the the “Contemporary World Cinema” section.

Italian minority coproductions include Carlo Fransisco Manatad’s Imminente, immanente to be featured in “Short Cuts”; Asghar Farhadi’s Gala entry Todos lo saben; and Andrey Paounov’s Walking on Water in “TIFF Docs”.
